National School Games (NSG) Opening Ceremony 2017
The National School Games (NSG), Singapore's annual inter-school sports competition, officially kicked off with an opening ceremony held at the Singapore Sports Hub on Wednesday (Jan 25).
Close to 300 students, parents, officials and teachers were present at the ceremony held at the OCBC Arena. Minister of State for Education Dr Janil Puthucheary was the guest of honour.
Cheng Wei Hon from 6 Joy was selected as the student representative Oath Taker for Basketball at the NSG Opening Ceremony 2017. After the ceremony, Wei Hon said, “It’s such an honour to represent all the schools participating in Singapore Primary Schools Basketball Competition. I have learnt that it is the values which we will learn and exhibit during the competition that is more important than the results itself.” Wei Hon will also lead all the student athletes, who will be representing Kranji Primary School in their respective sports competition, in our own symbolic oath taking ceremony held in school. This will allow students to better appreciate the value of sports participation and to show their support for their school representatives. We wish all student athletes from Kranji Primary School the very best in their upcoming competitions and to learn to be resilient while daring, and to find fulfilment for all their hard work put in through their training sessions.
