International Friendship Day 2016
On 8 April 2016, Kranji Primary School celebrated International Friendship Day. This is a day dedicated to understanding Singapore’s relations with our Asean neighbours. Singapore does not have natural resources like many countries do, so Singapore needs to cultivate and strengthen good relations with them. This is also an effort to help our pupils understand the different cultures of their Asean classmates are from.
We started off the week with customized CCE lessons during which CCE teachers conducted different activities with their pupils in class. These lessons allow our pupils to learn more about the cultures and languages of ASEAN countries.
Thereafter, on the actual day, all pupils participated in recess activities organized specially for the occasion. Pupils were also dressed in costumes from different countries and had photographs taken at a designated booth. They also took turns to play the traditional games of Asean countries and watched foreign short motivational films.
It was an enriching week where staff and pupils thoroughly enjoyed themselves.
